Losinj dolphins are the most famous dolphins in the Adriatic because their research has been going on for three decades. They spend their entire lives in the Kvarnerići area and researchers know them by name. The community of bottlenose dolphins on Lošinj is relatively small, the estimated number of individuals is about 200. The oldest dolphins on Lošinj, such as Vivian, Tac and Midas, are more than 30 years old!

 

Experienced skippers and educators and knowledge of individual bottlenose dolphins and the ability to recognize them guarantee you a unique experience!

 

After the excursion, use your ticket for free admission to the Lošinj Marine Education Center and learn more about these fascinating animals.

 

The entire dolphin spotting excursion program can last up to 3 hours, or less, depending on when we spot the dolphins.

 

The sea outing depends on weather conditions and a sufficient number of tickets sold. You will receive detailed information about the departure time when you book your excursion.

EXCURSION INFORMATION

 

 

 

There are 12 seats available for passengers on board. Seats are not numbered.

If fewer than 6 tickets have been sold, the boat will not sail and passengers will receive a full refund or be offered to depart at another time.

In case of insufficient number of tickets sold or due to unforeseen circumstances, the trip may be cancelled and you will be offered another departure date.

What to expect:

 

BOAT BOARDING - START THE TRIP

 

The boat will be waiting for you in front of the education center. The crew will help you board and settle in, put on your life jackets, stow your belongings, etc. And your adventure will begin! During the trip, we will show you what the beautiful water area of Lošinj looks like from the sea!

 

We will spend at least 1 hour and a maximum of 3 hours at sea. The time spent at sea depends on the time it takes to find dolphins and their behaviour in our presence.

 

WHEN WE FIND DOLPHINS - THE WAIT IS OVER!

 

When we find dolphins, the search is over! We will slowly approach them so that you can see them up close. From time to time the dolphins decide to approach the ship and swim in the bow wave. It is a great experience and if you listen carefully you can even hear them vote!

 

We will stay close to the dolphins for up to 30 minutes. But don't forget that the dolphins you are observing are wild animals and their behaviour cannot be predicted. Also, depending on the composition of the group, the dolphins may clearly show by their behaviour that we may be not welcome.

 

AFTER THE RETURN - USE YOUR CARD AND VISIT THE EDUCATIONAL CENTER

 

When we return from the sea, you can visit the Lošinj Sea Education Center and spend more time learning more about Lošinj's dolphins, watch short documentaries, and learn about the research, education, and protection activities carried out by the Blue World Institute in the Adriatic.

 

You can also adopt one of the Adriatic dolphins and thus support their protection or purchase a small gift.
